TV presenter Dame Esther Rantzen is backing the British Heart Foundation’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
Rantzen, who lost her husband to heart disease, visited the charity's new heart lab at Imperial College London to learn more about the cutting-edge research behind the appeal, which involves using stem cells to repair damaged hearts after an attack. Rantzen commented 'Hope really does live in BHF-funded labs like this, where leading researchers are working tirelessly. I only wish my husband were alive to see this'.
